We have a visitor to our school pond.  Wonder if he'll catch anything!

Bridget came in to visit us on World Book Day.  She showed us her beautiful books and helped us to make flick books.

We all enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day, even the adults!

We had a visit from Lesley Mackey who spoke to us about her Pick Up 3 Pieces project.  We were shocked by some of the things found on the shore.

International School Meals Day.  We really enjoyed our rice and beans.
We read stories from all over the world about what school meals mean to children.

Flutterby the Fairy

One day I was on the way home from school on the bus. We went over a bump. It was Friday so I had my fiddle.  On the chair next to me my fiddle fell against my ear. I heard some sort of chattering noise.

When I got home I looked to see what the noise was, and there, right in front of me was a sparkly, glamorous, beautiful fairy. She had a sparkly, white dress, beautiful gold wings and sparkly silver shoes. She was the most beautiful thing I’ve see in my life. I asked her what her name was. She said Flutterby.

“Hmm” I thought, Flutterby, Flutterby the fairy. I asked her how she got there.

“Well…” she said, “I was listening to you play but I was so engrossed I didn’t realize when you put it away. Oh and thank you for letting me out.”

Flutterby sprinkled fairy dust on my nose, and said “I will see you soon.”

Soon after I met Flutterby, I was doing a school play with my fiddle but I couldn’t get the tune right. My nose was itchy during practice so I scratched it. Suddenly Flutterby appeared in front of me, sprinkled fairy dust on my fiddle, sit on my shoulder and listened to me play. The tune was perfect! The audience loved it!

Jungle Adventure

Tom, a twelve year old boy lived with his dad and annoying little brother called John. Tom and John’s dad had a farm with 5 ducks, 4 cows, 6 sheep, 1 ram, 3 sheep dogs and 1 cat. “Tom and John, bedtime,” called dad. They went to bed, but Tom didn’t go to sleep, he snuck out and got into his dad’s boat, his sheep dog came too. He fell asleep in the boat. When he woke up he was a mile away from the jungle and there was a big dog swimming towards him. The big dog said “hello.” Tom was shocked. The dog was friendly and helped Tom in the jungle. Tom saw a crocodile and walked past it quickly and tiptoed into the jungle. Tom got lost in the jungle, “help I’m lost” he shouted. He saw elephants, tigers and cheetahs behind the trees.  He thought that if he was sneaky enough he could sneak past them and find his way out but they heard him and the cheetahs and tigers went after him!  He got deeper into the jungle and saw the crocodile again and the crocodile went after him “SNAP?”

“What?  The card game SNAP?” Tom asked.

“Yeh” the crocodile said.  “You fancy a game?”  They play a game of SNAP, crocodiles, cheetahs and tigers too.
